These photos show the gradual healing process of a small Yorkshire Terrier who was attacked by two other dogs. With regular dressing changes and antibiotics to treat infection the skin gradually healed over the massive wound, which initially covered a third of her side. The whole process took 3 months, but the fur is now growing back and all that remains is a small scar near her groin.

Initially the wound was very infected and although an attempt was made to salvage skin, it was too badly damaged and skin over a wide area died and came away.

Once the infection was under control, the wound produced healing "granulation" tissue, and the edges of the wound started to migrate towards each other.

Over time, the wound got smaller and smaller. This is one month from the start of treatment.

This was taken 2 months after the start of treatment. The fur is starting to grow back.

Two and a half months from the start of treatment.

Three months after the start of treatment. The wound is now completely healed.
