Gone fishing?

A terrier had a nasty surprise when he decided to grab a tasty looking meatball beside a fish pool. He managed to swallow the hook embedded in the meatball, and approximately 3 inches of attached line.

Fortunately for this amateur fisherman, the meatball/hook/line combination didn't get very far - the hook became embedded in the back of his tongue, as revealed in this xray.

A short general anaesthetic allowed us to gently remove the hook from his tongue and we hope that he makes a full and uneventful recovery!
