Border Veterinary Centre

Vets

Ken McBrien - Is located mainly at the Oswestry sugery and has worked in Willow Street since 1990 before the move to the new surgery in Maesbury road where he has been able to develop his interest in small animal medicine.
Rachel Webb - Graduated from London in 2007 and works at both our Ellesmere and Oswestry surgeries.
Practice Manager
Jayne Conde - Is the manager of our Oswestry branch and has been with us since June 2004. Jayne has previous experience in the retail industry and is usually found behind the reception desk where she maintains the smooth day to day running of our surgery.
Receptionist
Sue Martin - Is our new receptionist who joined us in January 2008.
Nurses
Crian Shenston - Qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1996 and has recently become a fully accredited A1 veterinary nursing assessor. Crian is responsible for training the student nurses at our Oswestry branch and as an experienced nurse is able to give advice on a broad range of animal related topics.

Lisa Richards - Lisa started work in our Chirk surgery in September 1996 and moved to Border Veterinary Centre in September 1997. She obtained a B-Tech. Animal Care qualification from Walford College in June 1997, and passed Part 1 Nursing exams. She is also currently the Welsh National Ladies Pole Climbing Champion (80ft pole).
Mary Hargest - Mary has been a member of practice staff for several years as part of her veterinary nursing course at Harper Adams. She has succesfully competed her final veterinary nursing examinations in 2007 and is now a fully qualified veterinary nurse.
Sian Harvey - attending the Animal Nursing Assistant course at Walford College.

Brownlow Veterinary Centre
Vets

John Blackwell - Specialises mainly in large animal work at our Ellesmere surgery. John moved to the Brownlow Vet Centre in 1989 and is responsible for the farm animal side of the practice.

David Martin - Graduated from Liverpool in 1997 with honours and works mainly with the large animal side of the practice at our Ellesmere branch. David also offers a full veterinary expert witness service and accepts regular instructions from clients of the practice, solictors and the RSPCA. To discuss a case please call him in Ellesmere.
Jemma Chamberlain - After completing an honours degree in Biology in 2001, Jemma went on to graduate as a vet from Liverpool university in 2006. She works mainly with the small animal side of the practice at our Ellesmere and Chirk surgeries.
Rebecca Hyland - Graduated from Edinburgh in 2006 and works at our Ellesmere and Chirk surgeries as a mainly small animal vet, although she does also enjoy working with horses.
Rachel Webb - Graduated from London in 2007 and works at our Oswestry and Ellesmere surgeries.

Practice Manager
Barbara Latham - Barbara joined the practice in 2003. Barbara runs the office and is responsible for the farm and accounts. Having previously worked as a veterinary nurse, and being married to a farmer, she is able to provide a vast amount of experience for managing the practice on a day to day basis.
Receptionists

Lesley Manetti - Is our head receptionist in Ellesmere, having experience of both medical and veterinary practice Lesley is well able to juggle the demands of a busy reception desk and is always able to provide a friendly smile and warm welcome.

Karen Price - Karen joined us in 2003 with long experience in the hospitality trade. Karen is well placed to provide a welcoming presence and is rapidly learning the intricacies of veterinary practice.
Nurses

Alice Wynne - Is our head nurse in Ellesmere, having qualified in 2000 from Llandrillo. She initially worked in Wrexham before moving to join us in 2001. Her caring nature has rapidly made her popular with both pets and clients. Alice runs her own nurse clinics for obese pets and is always available to provide advice on general pet care.

Rachel Ackerley - Has worked for the practice since 2001, initially as a part time receptionist and now as a veterinary nurse trainee. Rachel now goes to college weekly while training with us in the practice. Her happy disposition readily carries over to all the animals she deals with.
Jess Tipping - trainee veterinary nurse. Jess attends the pre vet nursing course at Walford College one day a week.

Castle Veterinary Centre
Vets
Jemma Chamberlain and Rebecca Hyland - see above.

Receptionists
Ann Butler -our longest serving member of staff, Ann works at our Chirk surgery. Ann knows nearly all the clients personally and will help with any queries.
Janet Swetman - joined Chirk staff in March 2007.
Nurses
Ruth Eccleston - Qualified veterinary nurse who previously worked at our Oswestry branch, now working part-time at Chirk.
